Reek Sunday: This Sunday July 28th is the official pilgrimage day to Croagh Patrick.
Carracastle Cemetery Mass  will be on next Sunday 4th August at 11.30am, Bank Holiday weekend, if raining Mass will be in the Church. After Mass The Gathering Committee invite everyone to join a procession to the community centre following the Fife and Drum band where a community photo will be taken.  This is a re-enactment of the Temperance photo from 1912 as dislayed in Davys.Tea & scones in the Community Centre. Please spread the word. Envelopes will be distributed to ask your annual contribution towards maintenance.
Carracastle Parish Gathering: Details for the week are as follows:  Sat. 3rd Aug. Music in Davy's Bar with Barry Kerrigan; Sun. 4th Cemetery Sunday Mass @11.30a.m. followed by tea & refreshments in the Community Centre.  “The Maiden Aunt” play by the Carracastle & Kilmovee drama group in the Community Centre @ 8.30pm,  Adm. €10. Traditional music in Davy's Bar 9 - late; Tues. 6th Sporting activities in the Sports field (Hurling,/Football/Cycle). Wed. 7th Scoil Iosa Tea Party fundraiser. €10pp. BYOB; Thurs. 8th 25 Card Game & Raffle in Davy's Bar, 9 – late; Fri. 9th Heritage Day & Nigel Davy's Ceile Band; Sat. 10th Carracastle Lass Reunion with Music from Mary Kathleen, 8 – late;  Sun. 11th 3pm Annual Pony Drive, 9pm Carracastle Lass Competition 2013 in the community centre  with MC Tommy Marren.
Scoil Iosa Gathering Tea Party Aug 7th at 7.30pm as part of the Carracastle Parish Gathering. €10 per person on tables of 10. Music provided. Funds for Scoil Iosa maintenance. The Irish Cancer Society's Care to Drive service is currently seeking volunteer drivers to drive local patients to and from their chemotherapy treatments in Galway University Hospital. Drivers will pick local patients up at their homes, drive them to the door of the hospital, pick them up again when they are finished their treatment and bring them home. Sligo Rovers Summer Camp in Bellaghy Park, Charlestown  Mon July 29th - Fri Aug 2nd from 10.30am - 3pm. Open to boys & girls aged 5-16 aimed to develop their fundamental skills through practice & participation in non-competitive drills in a safe & fun environment.
