Praying for our diocese 2014: Ballaghaderreen is the focus parish for our prayer this week. "There is a difference between saying prayers and praying. Saying prayers can simply be repeating words by rote, without giving them much thought - like reciting tables at maths class in school. Praying, on the other hand, involves concentrating on the words, allowing them to take root deep inside us. Praying is 'heart speaking to heart': we tell God what is in our
hearts and we listen with our hearts for what He says to us". We are praying for our diocese ..... because, through prayer, we desire to listen to God and grow in appreciation of the many and varied ways God is working in our lives and in our parishes.
First Friday visits for the month of August will take place during the coming week.
Carracastle Cemetery Mass will be on Sunday next 3rd August at 11.30am, Bank Holiday weekend followed by tea & refreshments in the Community Centre. If raining Mass will be in the Church. Envelopes will be distributed to ask your annual contribution towards maintenance.
Carracastle Lass Festival will take place on Sunday, 10th August in the Community Centrre. If you would like to sponsor a girl that will represent your business at this event please contact Margaret on 0868586235. Also if anyone wishes to help sponsor this event by giving a donation to any member of the committee it would be really appreciated as funds raised by the Carracastle Lass Festival are vital to the running of the Community Centre.
