Year of Faith Pilgrimage to Lough Derg with Bishop Kelly and Priests. To celebrate the Year of Faith, Bishop Brendan Kelly & some priests of the Diocese are going on the Three Day Pilgrimage to Lough Derg from July 1st  to 3rd  next (Mon-Wed) and are inviting people from the Diocese to join. Bishop Brendan says; 'I want to do this pilgrimage in the Year of Faith for two reasons in particular' -  'Firstly, when Jesus began his preaching ministry, his first words to the people was 'Repent and believe the good news!'. The first step then in the renewal of faith, personally & as a Church, is always repentance. The Lough Derg Pilgrimage, deeply penitential as it is, is a way of acknowledging our need to repent & make atonement for the sins & failures of the past & a way of making a new beginning'.The Lough Derg Pilgrimage connects us very much with the faith of our Irish forebears, the faith that always sustained them & gave hope, especially when times were difficult'. 'For these and - or any other reason -, they would love people from the diocese to join with them from July 1st  to 3rd '. Anybody who is interested can contact Fr. John Maloney at 094-9367031, or the Diocesan Office at 094-9860021 before June 17. A bus to the island will be arranged if sufficient people come.
