Ambika Paraja (9) from Jhilligoan, an isolated, rural community in Odisha, eastern India, is featured on this year’s Trócaire box. Her family can now look forward to a better life thanks to your support of Trócaire’s work. Trócaire’s Lenten campaign runs until Easter Sunday. www.trocaire.org/lent
Congratulations to the children from 1st & 2nd class & their teacher Mrs Maloney who qualified for the Connacht Final in the 'Scoil Dramaiocht' competition on Thurs next March 7th in Inver, Connemara with their production of 'Pluirin Sneachta'. They also took the top award for best play of the day in Kilmovee Community Centre on Wed last. Best of luck in Inver.

Carracastle /Kilmovee Drama are staging their 3 Act Hilarious Play ‘The Maiden Aunt’ in Carracastle Community Centre Friday March 29th (Good Friday night).
Carracastle Community Alert is in the process of setting up a community based text alert messaging system to help counteract criminal activity in our community & to warn residents in the area of any suspicious activity. In order to compile a list of households & contact details two people known to you will call during the coming weeks. Should you wish to be involved in this system you will be asked to fill in a form, give €5 towards the running costs of the service. A scheme to provide monitored alarms for people 65 & over through the Dept. of Community, Equality & Gaeltacht affairs is on offer. If interested contact a member of the Community Alert

Take Me Out: Tranisition Year students of St. Josephs Secondary School Charlestown will be holding an extravagant Take Me Out show in the CBD Complex on Fri next 8th March @ 8pm.
Tickets €10 can be purchased from TY students in Charlestown, will also be sold by reps in Swinford, Tubbercurry & Ballaghaderren secondary schools & will be available on the night. Boys from Ballaghaderreen, Tubbercurry, Swinford, Charlestown will be displaying their talents with the hope of winning over the female contestants from neighbouring schools.

Anam Cara is holding its monthly support meeting Wed 6th March from 7:30- 9pm at The Ballybane Enterprise Centre, Galway. Free & open to all bereaved parents with a bereavement therapist present to answer any questions & signpost to other services.
Caring Communities is The Community Foundation for Ireland's new two year strategy for 2013 & 2014.Grants are targeted at very specific areas.The three categories within the Grant Programme are:(1) Caring & Older People (2) Migrants (3) Mental Health & Stigma.The deadline for applications is 29th March.Grants will be made by early May 2013. Work should begin mid May 2013.Outcome reports due end Sept. Network & Learning event late October.
