'Care for Life: Its worth it' - Professing our Faith in a Culture of Life' – This Sunday   is the annual 'Day for Life'. As in recent years, a letter has been published by the Bishops' Conference for the day. The letter is entitled "Care for Life: It's worth it" (with the sub-title 'Professing our Faith in a Culture of Life'). Copies available at Churches doors & www.dayforlife.org
Knock Shrine is hosting 2 talks for the Year of Faith - Wed Oct 9th at 8pm American composer & liturgist Tom Kendzia, who has written many well-known hymns such as Stand By Me and Out of Darkness, will give a workshop on “Liturgy and Music in Parishes”. This workshop is for Priests, Liturgy Groups and Choirs. It will take place in the Rest & Care Centre at Knock Shrine with refreshments afterwards and on Thurs Oct 10th at 8pm Fr. Richard Leonard SJ, Director of the Australian Catholic Office for Film and Broadcasting will give a talk in the Rest & Care Centre, Knock Shrine @ 8pm  Fr. Leonard, who has written 2 books entitled “Why Bother Praying” & “Where The Hell Is God”, will speak on the topic “Will our Faith have Young People in the 21st Century”. Adm is free to both talks & all are welcome.

Information Technology Skills-FETAC Level 4: Mayo North East is organising a FETAC Level 4 Information Technology Skills Course. On completion of the course students will have a greater knowledge of IT, Data Entry/Keyboard, Word Processing, Internet & File Management. The course will start on Fri. 18th Oct. in Swinford & will run for five consecutive Fridays and is free for unemployed people who want to upskill with a view to improving their work prospects.
