The AGM of Carracastle Community Childcare will take place on Wed. Feb. 5th at 8pm in the childcare facility. Your support would be greatly appreciated. New members very welcome. World Day of Migrants and Refugees is this Sunday 19th January 2014.
Catholic Schools Week 2014: Sun. 26th Jan. marks the beginning of Catholic Schools Week 2014. The purpose of the week is to highlight & celebrate the important contribution that Catholic schools make to our local communities, parishes & diocese. This year's theme is Catholic Schools: Places of Faith and Learning_.The Annual Mass with Bishop Kelly to mark Catholic Schools Week will take place in the Church of Immaculate Conception, Ballymote on Tues 28th Jan. at 7.30pm. All are welcome to this Mass, but especially those involved in any way in our school communities, now or in the past: Parents, Teachers and other staff, Pupils, Boards of Management, Clergy, and Religious.
Grandparents Day at Scoil Iosa Jan. 29th @ 11am. 'Why send your child to a catholic school', published by Veritas, will be launched by Bishop Brendan Kelly. All grandparents are welcome
Praying for the Diocese 2014: Situated at the foot of the Ox Mountains, Attymass Parish is a place of great natural beauty, with wonderful vistas of mountain, lake & bog land at every turn of the road. The parish is made up of 250 households with a total population of approximately 700. The parish church, which dates from 1835, is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception and St Joseph. St. Feichin’s National School has three classroom teachers. It was awarded the title “Repak Recycling School of the Year” in 2013, to the great delight of the local community. The parish’s most famous son is of course Servant of God Father Patrick Peyton CSC (1909 - 1992), the Rosary Priest, who was born & raised in the townland of Carracastle. A beautiful Memorial Centre was officially opened in Oct 1998 to celebrate the life & apostolic work of this great priest. The Centre, which attracts up to 10,000 visitors annually, has in recent years become a very popular venue for school retreats.

Ecumenical Service of Prayer for Christian Unity will take place in Church of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Bonniconlon Thurs 23rd Jan.@ 8pm.. Bishop Brendan Kelly is preaching & Bishop Patrick Rooke Church of Ireland Bishop of Tuam, Killala & Achonry is to attend along with a number of Church of Ireland Clergy. People from all our parishes are invited & welcome. Light refreshments will be served after the service.
