Service for Christian Unity: This year, the service of prayer for Christian Unity will be held in St Thomas’ Church, Callow on Wed 23rd Jan at 8 pm. The Right Reverend Patrick Rooke, Bishop of Tuam, Killala and Achonry will deliver the homily. The people of Killasser and Callow extend a warm invitation to everyone of all Christian Faiths to attend. Week of prayer for Christian Unity runs from 18th - 25th January.

Community Cenacolo is a Catholic Community, based on a farm in Knock, that helps people overcome addictions from drug, alcohol, gambling, or who suffer from depression or just struggling with life and feel they need some time out? The Community was started by an Italian nun, Mother Elvira, in 1983 and currently has 60 houses around the world, including a house in Knock.. Community life is based on friendship, prayer and work, and is recognised by the Church as a private association of the faithful. It is a non-profit organisation and the program is free of charge. Many men and women who have lived through the pain of addiction and with the help of Cenacolo, have come out the other side, thus being able to offer advice and hope to others. Summer Festival: There will be a meeting, starting at 9pm, on Thursday, January 24th in the Town Hall Arts Centre, for a discussion about the proposed Charlestown Summer Festival. There is already much interest expressed from the town and the wider area, and anyone keen to bring business and activity to the town this summer is asked to attend.
