Your prayers please for Christina McDermott, Rooskey whose death occurred on Friday February 22nd. Reposing at the residence of her daughter and son in law Deirdre and Padraic Gillespie, Powellsboro, Tubbercurry on Sunday afternoon from 3 o’clock with removal on Monday morning at 11 o’clock to St. Joseph’s Church, Rooskey for Funeral Mass at 12 noon, burial afterwards in Carracastle cemetery. Deepest sympathy to her daughters Deirdre and Rufina, son Michael, grandchildren, in-laws and extended family. We remember all whose anniversaries occur at this time.

Confirmation Parish Preparation Programme – You Shall Be My Witnesses begins this Monday Feb. 25th. The Confirmation Candidates are requested to be at Scoil Iosa to begin at 7.30pm. Parents/Guardians are requested to be present by 8.20pm for the conclusion of the session. Thank you to those who volunteered to be Leaders of the Programme.

Lenten Evening Prayer on Thursday 28th February at 7.30pm in Rooskey Church.
Carracastle Community Alert is in the process of setting up a community based text alert messaging system to help counteract criminal activity in our community & to warn residents in the area of any suspicious activity. In order to compile a list of households & contact details two people known to you will call during the coming weeks. Should you wish to be involved in this system you will be asked to fill in a form, give €5.00 towards the running costs of the service. We are also offering a scheme to provide monitored alarms for people 65 & over through the Department of Community, Equality and Gaeltacht affairs. If you are interested in applying for one of these alarms please contact any member of the Community Alert.

Enrolment In St. Nathy's College: An Enrolment & Open Day for First Year students in St. Nathy's College for the 2013/2014 year will take place in the College on Saturday next, March 2nd 10am – 4pm. All prospective students are to be accompanied by a parent/guardian and have all relevant enrolment forms completed please.
Take Me Out: The Tranisition Year students of St. Josephs Secondary School Charlestown will be holding an extravagant 'Take Me Out' show in the CBD Complex Charlestown on Friday 8th of March at 8pm. Tickets cost €10 and can be purchased from any TY student in Charlestown and will also be sold by reps in Swinford, Tubbercurry and Ballaghaderren
secondary schools. Tickets will also be available on the night. Boys from Ballaghaderreen, Tubbercurry, Swinford and Charlestown will be displaying their talents with the hope of winning over the female contestants from neighbouring schools. Rafflle on the night. It
promises to be a fantastic night and one not to be missed!
Emmanuel House is hosting their annual event for Married Couples on 2nd March starting at 11am. The day will consist of a healing service for the healing of marriages, prayers, Mass, confessions, renewal of marriage vows and talks. Guest speaker: Damien Stones BSc.(Hons psych) Msc.(psych). Mayo Cancer Support Association meeting for people living with or surviving cancer will take place at Rock Rose House, Castlebar on Thurs. 28th Feb. at 7pm. 094 9038407
The Carers Association & O’Brien’s Doc Morris Pharmacy, Claremorris will be hosting an information evening on Men’s Health for Male Carers and all others who wish to attend in the McWilliam Park Hotel next Wednesday, 27th February at 8.00pm. Information will be presented on male cancers, obesity, depression, diabetes, and tips for keeping healthy. There will also be blood pressure checks and an opportunity to try out a circulation booster machine. Admission is FREE and all are welcome! Contact 086 3775702 .
