Praying for our diocese 2014: Attymass is the focus parish for our prayer this week. Attymass is the birth place of the 'Servant of God', Fr. Patrick Peyton. Fr. Peyton was a great advocate of the importance and power of prayer. The prayer he promoted was the Rosary, a prayer learned in the family home and prayed there daily. We thank God for the tremendous witness of this holy, humble man and the heroic efforts he made to promote the Rosary and highlight the value and gift of prayer. 'The family that prays together stays together' . 'A world at prayer is a world at peace'. We pray that some day in the not too distant future this son of Attymass will be declared a saint. The process began in June 2001 and he is already acknowledged with the title 'Servant of God'. We are praying for our diocese because ...... like Fr.Peyton, we believe in the power of prayer to open our hearts to God's plan and purpose for our lives and the church we love and serve.
