Kilmovee is the focus parish of our prayer this week. We are praying for our diocese because .. we believe that through prayer we allow God to sow seeds of hope, courage & joy in our lives; through prayer we find ways to renew ourselves in the faith & bring it to others; through prayer we find the wisdom & courage of the Spirit; through prayer we come to a deeper understanding & appreciation of the God of our prayers, the God who, in the words of St. John, lavishes his love upon us, the God who, in the words of Isaiah, has carved us on the palm of his hand & sees us as precious in his eyes, the God who died for us in Jesus. This 'Year of Prayer' is a very special time in our diocese. In our 'Diocesan Prayer' we are inviting the Holy Spirit to come afresh on each member of the church in our diocese. The Holy Spirit came on the first disciples after an extended period of time in united prayer. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal traces its origin to a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit following a retreat held in February 1967 at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh. Our conviction & trust is that God's Spirit will work a powerful renewal for our diocese.
As part of the 'Year of Prayer' for the diocese, a Diocesan Mission, concludes in Tubbercurry, 10th -12th Nov. Mass will be celebrated each evening at 7.30 pm with the focus on a particular theme, Personal Renewal 1st evening; Parish Renewal 2nd evening; Diocesan Renewal 3rd evening.
Parishioners of Carracastle/Rooskey are invited and encouraged to attend these three evenings.
